April 30th brought Arbor Day and Smokey the Bear to Sage Creek Elementary.  After learning about and drawing trees in the weeks before Arbor Day, students were prepared for the questions posed to them by Springville City Director of Buildings ad Grounds, Alex Roylance.  In an assembly students were able to learn and share information about the importance of trees in our environment.  Smokey was on hand encourage the children to protect and care for trees.  After the assembly the student council and honor patrol helped city workers plan six new trees in front of the school.  If you want to know where the oldest trees in Springville are located, ask a Sage Creek student.  They can tell you exactly where to find them.
