Mrs. Greenburg's 3rd gr class has some new pieces of furniture! From Mrs. Greenburg: At the beginning of the year I quickly realized that I had several "wiggle worms" in my class who needed physical movement almost constantly. Movement is key when teaching elementary school (and any age, really). In general, flexible or alternative seating allows students different seating options where students can lay, stand, or sit in different areas or ways. I began looking into various flexible seating options, and I fell in love with stability ball chairs.
While our partnership with Inside Sales for our 4th-6th gr traditional-track students to learn coding has concluded (weekly classes will resume again next year), there are many students who want to learn the skills and/or advance on what they have learned. Attached below is a flyer from UVU that offers coding classes for 4th gr students and up. It's a great resource if you have budding computer scientists out there!
From now until March 1st there are special Bonus Box Tops on some products only at Wal-Mart that get us 4 Bonus Box Tops, and each one of those we turn in by March 1st we will get entered into a drawing for 50,000 ($5,000) additional Box Tops. That is a great opportunity for us to reach our goal this year if we can get the word out about the Bonus Box Tops at Wal-Mart right now. Now that we have our kindergarten playground in place, we are working towards earning money to enhance our north playground, the one that all other students play on.
Our Science Fair is coming up! It is Jan 31 (5th gr), Feb 1 (6th gr) and Feb 2 (4th gr). We need help! Please click on the link below if you are able to help us judge projects - it is not difficult and you do not need a science background. Ashlee Clark, our PTA coordinator, is coordinating all of our volunteers. We will train you in all you need to be successful.
