In connection with the fourth grade science core on the water cycle, fourth graders at Sage Creek Elementary had a visit from the Living Planet Aquarium in Salt Lake come visit their school to add supplemental instruction about the water cycle. All fourth grade students had the opportunity to rotate through two different learning centers to add interest and variation to presentation. Student's were surprised to learn that Utah's Wetland environment only covers one percent of the state. Thank you Living Planet Aquarium!

Sage Creek First Grade Teacher, Mrs. Peggy Beesley, was honored by Sage Creek PTA and school staff at the October PTA Area Council Meeting. After raising her own children Mrs. Beesley began teaching in her "dream job" as a first grade teacher at Sage Creek where she has remained for the past seventeen years. Mrs. Beesley always puts in extra hours of her own time, and uses part of her salary to make sure her classroom is always top notch! Her classroom is always a "buzz" with the sounds of learning. Most importantly Mrs. Beesley loves her students and they love her right back! Thank you, Mrs. Beesley, for all you do for the children at Sage Creek.

Kindergarten students at Sage Creek Elementary enjoyed learning a new letter and sound with an awesome alphabet activity. Students were introduced to the letter “L” by participating in a Hawaiian Luau. Students wore leis, learned to hula, and limboed their way through a variety of activities that emphasized or used the letter L in some way. Mahalo to our great kindergarten teachers for making learning fun!

Sage Creek Dragon's "Walk to School" Day

Submitted by diana.guinn on Tue, 10/13/2009 - 11:01

The fabulous Sage Creek PTA sponsored the annual Walk To School Day on October seventh. Students and parents were encouraged to wear green and tie green ribbons on their backpacks and jackets while they walked. Detective Dave Caron of the Springville City Police department was on hand to help students cross the street in the crosswalk, having them skip and hop to make the experience memorable and fun. The Walk To School Day is part of Safety Week and the purpose of it is to help make students and parents more aware of the safety elements involved in walking to school.
