Chinese Immersion Students (first through fifth grades) had the opportunity to write to students at Wengu Elementary in Cixi, China (close to Ms. Wang's hometown)!  The letters will be sent next week and students will be eagerly awaiting a response!

Second Grade Fun!

Submitted by shavon.mousser on

Second graders celebrated the 102nd day of school by dressing up like dalmations, completing crafts, having 102 second races, and doing "Cruella de Vil" math.  Students also celebrated the Chinese New Year on Friday, February 9th.  Students still had fun as they learned about three digit subtraction and regrouping as they "performed surgery" on base ten blocks.

Xin Nian Kuai Le! Happy Chinese Lunar New Year!

Submitted by shavon.mousser on

Celebrating the Chinese New Year is one of the BEST things about Sage Creek Elementary!  The Chinese Immersion Students taught the traditional students how to say "Happy New Year" in Mandarin!  The day was also filled with art projects, yoga, stories, traditional foods, and red envelopes!  A large dragon made it's way through the school spreading good luck!  It is a rich cultural experience we enjoy at Sage Creek!
