On Wednesday, April 4th, the second grade students from Sage Creek Elementary had the pleasure of visiting Harward Farms in Springville for their annual Farm Field Day.  How much do YOU know about Agriculture? Well, we learned things like: a plant needs five things to grow:  water, air, sunlight, soil, and nutrients; the Z.I.P. you gets from eating beef stands for zinc, iron, and protein; and a mother sheep is called a ewe!  Thank you, Harward Farms, for an amazing day of learning!!

Submitted by diana.guinn on

There is a Secret Garden at Sage Creek Elementary! Media Specialist, Marsha Rasmussen, has created a “Secret Garden” in the Media Center’s kiva for all students to enjoy.  The kiva is created after the book, The Secret Garden, a novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, which was initially published in the autumn of 1910 and has been a favorite of children and adults ever since. Sage Creek students will enjoy the Garden atmosphere as they enjoy media and other presentations during library and class time.  Thank you Mrs. Rasmussen!

Fourth graders from Mrs. Robbins' class at Sage Creek Elementary celebrated Dr. Suess Day by reading the Suess story “ Bartholomew and the Oobleck.”     They were amazed that the King thought that he could actually change the weather .  They decided to make their own oobleck.  Once they had seen the chemical change, and experimented with the oobleck, they concluded that oobleck was:   sticky, messy, disgusting, amazing and….. FUN!!!!
