Constitution Day

September 17th, Sage Creek Elementary School students celebrated Constitution Day by gathering at the flagpole to raise the flag, pledge to the flag and listen to the talented Mr. Courtney Curtis, our own third grade teacher, pay tribute to our country by singing the national anthem. Later in the day, students had the opportunity to watch and listen to President Obama's address to the school children of America and have discussions within their classrooms about the many freedoms afforded to us through the Constitution of the United States.

Fourth Grade, Place Value

Students in Mrs. Robbin's fourth grade class at Sage Creek Elementary School participated in The Human Race as they wheeled Principal Natalie Call back to the office in her "biggest" chair. Combining a math and reading lesson Mrs. Robbin's used the different size chairs of individuals throughout the building to represent place value, while Ms. Call read to the students about the value of their "place" at school, in the community and within the world.

Sage Creek Presents to School Board

On Wednesday, September 9, 2009, Sage Creek Elementary had the opportunity to highlight it’s student council election process to the Nebo Board of Education. Sixth-grade student, Shae Christensen, talked about why she wanted to be on the student council at Sage Creek. She was followed by student council advisor, Janeen Scott, who spoke about the requirements necessary to and the service provided by the Sage Creek student council.

Keyboard Chatter

“Sit on the chair seat, back straight and tall. Feet on the floor but that’s not all… Fingers curve and touch their home, My elbows down; They never roam!” This is just one of the chants third grade students in Mrs. Reber’s class at Sage Creek Elementary use to remember proper computer etiquette during Keyboard Chatter instruction. All third graders spend thirty minutes each day in the computer lab for twenty days learning how to properly use the computer keyboard. Sage Creek is home to computer savvy students!
