Howdy Partners, Sage Creek had one great book fair. With a Western theme full of saddles, bales of hay, cowboys, and some great books! That's what I call a darn tootin' good time. A huge shout out to our PTA moms and volunteers that made the book fair possible.
At Sage Creek, our counselor, Mr. Anderson, began a school-wide iniative that is designed to empower students. We call it "Big Deals & Little Deals and What To Do When They Happen to You" and it gives students tools and resources to draw from to first determine if something that happens is a little deal or a big deal and steps to take in either situation. Mr. Anderson spends time in each classroom every month to discuss the principles involved with "Big Deal - Little Deal" and the entire staff and studentbody has adopted the language. The attached link describes the program more thoroughly. Kudos to Mr. Anderson for helping our students become better problem solvers!
Check out this week's group of awesome students - Hansen's Heroes! Nominated by staff for being HEROS - helpful, exceptional, responsible, optimistic. Way to go boys and girls!
4th grade had the opportunity to learn how Utah's water system works. And what causes harm to the water system such as; grass clipping, toxic waste, etc. 4th graders at Sage Creek are now experts on how to keep our water clean in Utah!
On Friday, the 6th grade hiked 6 miles to Rotary Park in Hobble Creek Canyon. The students did an awesome job and were able to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and sunshine.

Mrs. Taylor's 3rd grade class dressed up today to show Sage Creek what a hero looks like, and who their hero is. We had students dress up as superheroes, police officers, and several dressed up as their parents, and siblings. Great job Mrs. Taylor's class for showing who your heroes are!
This week is a very awesome week to be a Hansen Hero! We have been talking all week what it takes to be a hero for red ribbon week. Great Job to all of our Hansen's heroes!
